Hidraqua has started a number of environmental education programmes to develop a culture of respect for the environment and responsible use of water among school students. This initiative is one of the company’s long-term goals to contribute to meeting the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Thus, in the last year, both Hidraqua and its companies in the Community of Valencia, Aguas de Alicante, Aigües d’Elx, Agamed, Aigües de l’Horta, Aigües de Cullera and Aigües de Paterna, organised school sessions for 12,640 students.

The most noteworthy environmental education action is the Aqualogía programme. These are sessions lasting around 90 minutes which the Hidraqua monitors take to schools. The aim is to explain the natural and urban water cycles to students, promoting the importance of using water responsibly and maintaining a positive attitude towards the environment through a methodology based on participation and interactivity.

Last year over 26,045 visitors to the facilities of Hidraqua and its affiliated companies also took part in these sessions.
